Warm Zone

   Having been in business since 2001 Northumberland   
   Warm Zone has become a familiar sight among voluntary
   groups in the County. As a Community Interest Company
   and part of the registered charity that is National Energy
   Action (NEA) the warm zone team have a remit to identify
   and tackle households in need of help with insulation to
   their homes.

Warm Zone have grants available through their partners which include form the private sector Scottish & Southern Energy, KNW Ltd and EAGA Ltd while for the public sector Northumberland County Council and the Care Trust are active partners among many others.

Acting on the best interest of communities across Northumberland the Warm Zone team work on getting grants to those who need help to have work done and help people save money. For example once properly insulated a standard 3 bed home could actually cut their energy bills by around £250 -300 each and every year. The team currently offer cavity wall insulation for £99 and the same price for loft insulation which is around a third of the standard cost.

BUT and it’s always a big but….. in 80% of the cases which come to the Warm Zone staff actually end up having work done for nothing. The results speak for themselves – 80% get FREE measures while the others end up paying a fraction of the normal cost.

It doesn’t end there though because within the team they have a professional benefits advisor who is available to carry out free benefit checks and to date Lisa Oxley has won almost ONE MILLION pounds in new or increased benefits – much of this has been awarded to people who simply hadn’t bothered applying because they thought they weren’t entitled to anything – they were wrong!
